Annual Application Deadline: December 1

Scholarships are awarded for the academic year following the application deadline and beginning with the fall semester.Re-applications accepted from former scholarship applicants and recipients who meet the current criteria.

Four one-year $5,000 scholarships available to full-time undergraduate Engineering Technology students pursuing either a bachelor or an associate degree in a course of study that has traditionally been a preparatory curriculum for the HVAC&R profession.  Applicants must have a cumulative college Grade Point Average (GPA) of at least 3.0 on a scale where 4.0 is the highest and/or a class standing of no less than the top 30% and meet at least one of the following criteria:

  • the institution hosts a recognized ASHRAE student branch ASHRAE Student Branches
  • the program is accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) or an agency outside the USA that is a signatory of The Sydney Accord
  • the institution is accredited by the Partnership for Air Conditioning, Heating, Refrigeration Accreditation (PAHRA)

Lynn G. Bellenger Engineering Technology Scholarship 
A one-year $5,000 scholarship available annually to a qualified female undergraduate engineering technology student who meets the criteria listed above.  Scholarship was established in memory of ASHRAE’s first woman president (2010-2011).

Associate & Bachelor Engineering Technology Scholarships 
Three one-year $5,000 scholarships available annually to Engineering Technology students who meet the criteria listed above.

Instructions and Application

Applications and the following documents must be submitted on or before the application deadline:

  1. Official transcript of college grades.  Transcript must be mailed in a separately sealed envelope.  Photocopies will not be accepted.
  2. Three signed letters of recommendation as follows: one from an instructor or faculty advisor, one from a current or past employer, and one from another character reference (other than a family member).  In the case of institutions with an ASHRAE student branch, a letter from the faculty advisor of that branch may be one of the letters of recommendation.
