We are offering a 12-month placement for students.This position will allow you to gain experience working in an industrial environment, to learn more about the full product development lifecycle, and to develop a closer understanding of our industry and its technologies.

Reporting to an appointed mentor engineer, you will be part of the R&D, Firmware, or Applications Groups within the Human Machine Interface Division (HMID) business unit, based in Whiteley, UK. As a Student Intern, you will be assigned work packages suitable to your experience and skills in order to make a valid contribution to our work.

During your internship, we expect you to be assigned several different work packages, each lasting 3~4 months—typical examples include:

  • Development of software to enhance firmware simulator tool
  • Updating firmware to increase compliance with industry coding standards
  • Development of software for Unit Test and/or Integration Test harnesses
  • Support for automated test strategies for firmware qualification
  • Implementation/updating of custom test equipment
  • Validation testing for new products
  • Scripting execution of automated test sequences and recording of test results

 

Job Requirements

Qualifications and Experience

  • Completed second year of Electronics Engineering degree (or similar)
  • Previous experience working in electronics or related industry would be an advantage

Competencies

  • Programming skills in C (preferably for embedded products) and/or C#
  • Programming skills in Python or similar scripting languages
  • Experience with debugging digital electronics, including familiarity with use of oscilloscopes and related equipment
  • Excellent communication skills
