Olin Chlor Alkali Products and Vinyls, a division of Olin Corporation, is seeking a Process Technology Development Intern for the Summer of 2020, located at the Charleston, Tennessee manufacturing site. In this role, you are expected to work safely and to learn to complete your assignments independently. Applicants must also be able to relate and communicate professionally with co-workers at various levels and show ability to change priorities and handle multiple tasks. Teamwork and cooperation, as well as independent initiative are critical.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Promote and help maintain a safe workplace environment
  • Prepare samples and perform tests per instructions
  • Conduct the experiments and tests accurately
  • Summarize data and provide reports
  • Troubleshoot and resolve the operation issues in the lab
  • Promote good housekeeping and maintain lab equipment in excellent condition
  • Deliver good quality work in a timely manner
  • Communicate within the team on the progress and prioritize projects to complete them in a timely manner

Minimum Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Enrolled at an accredited college or university majoring in an undergraduate Chemistry or Science-related program.
  • Must have completed sophomore year prior to first assignment with Olin
  • Must have an overall grade point average of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale (Documentation required). Cumulative GPA on current institution transcript will be used in transfer college situations
  • Ability to work full time (40 hours a week) mid-May – mid-August of 2020.
  • Preference given to those students not requiring housing assistance
  • Ability to interface with all levels of the organization
  • High awareness to detail, strong decision-making ability and creative problem-solving skills
  • Provide your own transportation to and from work location

  • Degree program must be from a school that is accredited by an accrediting agency recognized by the Secretary of Education of the U.S. Department of Education or equivalent program from an international university.
