As a colleague data integrity analyst you support on ensuring accuracy and consistency of colleague data held across multiple HR systems. You understand the different sources of colleague data and fully understand how data is captured, stored, integrated, and ultimately disposed of. You will use a range of statistical analysis and mapping techniques to continually evaluate, audit and document our colleague data architecture.

You will display a natural curiosity in data alongside a keen eye for detail. Using these skills you will proactively identify areas that could lead to data integrity issues and investigate any discrepancies that are found ensuring the root cause of issues are understood and fixes agreed.

What you need to do

  • Utilise statistical analytics techniques (predominantly within Oracle Reporting, SQL and Excel) to interrogate and analyse discrepancies in data
  • Run and support the development of audit reports that identify discrepancies within our data – providing these to data owners to act on
  • Run audit reports that review access to sensitive colleague data – highlighting any access issue to the system/data owner for resolution & sign-off
  • Perform root cause analysis on data discrepancies ensuring that pro-active steps are put in place to fix these and prevent repetition of the same issue
  • Feed in learnings from root cause analysis, pro-actively review these against the rest of the data landscape to take preventative action in other areas
  • Maintain documentation of data items held within all HR systems, including where data items are mastered
  • Document data dependencies between different HR systems ensuring that the capture and storage of colleague data is fully understood
  • Act as a point of contact for GDPR related matters
  • Collaborate with HR and business teams to understand data integrity issues – working with the relevant teams to resolve this quickly and effectively
  • Act as a trusted advisor on colleague data, offering expert guidance on how colleague data is stored and used
  • Champion Sainsbury's data protection principles at all times, escalating any concerns on the use of data to your manager or the colleague data governance team
  • Create and maintain a detailed view of known data integrity issues to ensure that all risks are fully understood
  • Maintain high quality documentation relating to regular audit report production

What you need to know

  • Proven experience of data analysis, ideally within a HR or similar environment (preferably with a statistical or mathematics based education)
  • Experience of working with Oracle reporting tools, preferable OTBI and BI Publisher
  • Experience of manipulating large complex data sets
  • Experience of performing root cause analysis
  • Experience of working with HR systems and data interfaces
  • Strong understanding of data analysis/numerical reporting
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products in particular Excel, Access, and PowerPoint

  • A high level of team contribution – looking for opportunities to provide input and support across the team building strong relationships with peers
  • When required present outputs of analysis work to stakeholders, explaining key trends and findings
  • Identify and introduce methods to update, simplify, and enhance audit processes, procedures and technologies
  • Ensure that documentation for colleague data is always kept up to date and accurate
