What to Expect:

As a Failure and Materials Analysis Intern, you will be part of a team researching associations between physical material conditions and physical / mechanical / electrical performance. 

You Will Make an Impact By:

  • Use scientific methods, investigative analysis and laboratory techniques to evaluate physical and material conditions. Understand how these conditions impact product performance and communicate the findings.
  • Use 2D and 3D X-ray analysis, X-ray fluorescence spectroscopy, cross-section, optical microscopy and electron microscopy, electrical performance measurements (PIM, IL/RL, Other) for understanding functional performance and relating this to physical conditions.

Required Qualifications for Consideration:

  • Currently pursuing a junior, senior or graduate student working toward a BS or MS in Physics, Materials Science or related Engineering or Physical Chemistry discipline from an accredited university.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint and Microsoft Word.
  • Perform electrical functional measurements per a prescribed method.
  • Self-motivated to complete all tasks required of the job with high attention to detail.
  • Passion showing an appreciation for strong aesthetics, photography.
  • Problem / opportunity identification. Passion for investigative analysis.
  • Research skills.
  • Proven strong academic performer with a minimum GPA of 3.2.
  • Eligible to work in the US for any employer without sponsorship from the company.

You Will Excite Us If You:

  • Have familiarity with optical microscopy, cross-sectioning, X-Ray Fluorescence, Electron Microscopy, 3D X-Ray analysis.
  • Understanding of IPC-A-610 acceptability for electronic assemblies. Understanding electronics componentry.
