The Sylacauga facility is primarily engaged in the mining and mineral processing of calcium carbonate. Safety, Quality and respect for the environment are essential guidelines the site strives to respect and enhance.
This project will focus on improving the efficiency of the wet plant. Reducing waste and improving recovery will represent a significant variable cost savings for the plant. We are looking at reducing spillage around equipment (Ball Mill, Grinders, Screens…) and improving the recovery of the flotation process.
Detailed mass balance of the plant to identify and quantify waste
Develop optimum equipment and process settings and configuration resulting in the establishment of standard operating procedures that optimize efficiency of the plant
Generate quantifiable and executable plan to improve wet plant recovery
Safer and healthier work environment created due to the elimination of dust and spillage which support Imerys EHS initiatives.

Able to work in a hot/cold, humid, wet, dusty and loud environment. Use of PPE required
Position offers exposure to different work environments, between office, lab, and plant (inside and outside), involving walking and climbing stairs, ladders and conveyors.
