Role Overview & Responsibilities: This internship will be located at our FMC STINE Research Center in Newark, Delaware. 

This is an  internship in the computational chemistry group. Depending on intern's experience and qualifications, potential responsibilities include:

  • Computer simulation of chemical structures and analysis of resultant data.
  • Chemical database searching to inform compound screening.
  • Collating textual and chemical structure information from multiple sources; accurately transferring that information into an existing database.
  • Assisting scientists in developing and improving our computational workflows.

This position is entirely computer work with no chemistry work in a laboratory.

At the completion of this internship you will have the opportunity to present a summary of your experiences and/or research project to the R&D scientific department you are aligned. 


  • As a STEM Intern you will also be responsible to complete administrative tasks accurately, follow and in a timely manner, follow safety protocols and perform other tasks assigned to assist within our team. 

Required Education

  • The success candidate will be currently enrolled as a rising third or fourth year student within an accredited undergraduate or Masters level program with a focus on Chemistry, Quantitative Biology (or similar major program), Chemical Engineering, or Computer Science. Completion of a full-year undergraduate organic chemistry sequence is required. Doctoral students currently pursuing a PhD in this academic discipline are encouraged to apply.
