Role Summary 

The role of the IT Network & Telecommunications Intern for TIP Trailer Services is to provide crucial IT Network and Telephony Support throughout the entire business. Working alongside our support partners and project managers, you will be involved in driving key Network & Infrastructure developments including SD WAN implementations, Rapid Deployment networks and Wi-Fi administration, Network analytics/support and VoIP support. You will also be involved in the upcoming Network Architecture transition working with the entire Infrastructure team, supporting and driving the changes through Europe and Canada.  

Responsibilities / Activities

  • Be the lead Network and Telecommunications contact for End-Users throughout the business, managing the administration of our Network and Telecoms ServiceDesk support queues.
  • Assist the Infrastructure and Mobility Project Managers in their business-critical projects, including project design, deployments & change control
  • Administration of the European Cisco Meraki wireless architecture
  • Assist in the management and configuration of the Samsung Mobile Tablet global stock
  • Drive the final stages of implementation and user training of the new Unified Communications VoIP solution + all its features.
  • Assist the team on developing new business-wide training, documentation and communication strategies
  • Assist in the transition to the businesses new IP Network platform globally, working alongside our new provider.
  • Get hands on experience of working with budgets and accounts-payable processes, i.e. purchase orders and invoicing. 
  • Work alongside the IT Application & Infrastructure Interns on various cross-functional projects
  • Multiple opportunities to identify and pitch potential projects to improve business processes.
  • Participate in Volunteering activities
