Ames Space Biology requires behavioral analysis for a rodent research ground-based enrichment test, which was performed in Dec 2018. The behavior analysis technician will work closely with the Ames rodent research discipline scientist and mission scientists to analyze behavior of rodents in video collected during the ground enrichment test in 2018. The technician will also assist with compiling of data, interpretation, and generation of a final report for the ground-based test. This is a temporary full-time position estimated to be completed in 2 months. 

As a technician, you will be responsible for:

  • Assessing video data for rodent behavior patterns
  • Scoring the videos to produce quantitative data
  • Compile and interpret data
  • Assist in generation of a final report for the ground-based enrichment test 
  • Meet with discipline scientist and other team members regularly to standardize scoring and present progress on analysis. 

Required Education/Experience: Some college with 0 to 5 years of experience.

 Required Skills/Training:

  • Experience scoring rodent behaviors from video.
  • Ability to identify common behaviors, compile and analyze data, and assist with report generation. 

Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40
