Molecular Biology and Antibody Display   

Our Research & Development Division’s Discovery Biologics - Protein Sciences Boston group is seeking a summer intern student to work on molecular biology and antibody surface display. The successful candidate is expected to use molecular biology methods to engineer and identify the best antibody cell display format as a foundation to build the next generation antibody lead discovery tool 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Use molecular biology techniques to display human antibody on yeast cell surface
  • Use flow cytometry to evaluate antibodies’ binding to their corresponding antigens and analyze the data to identify the best antibody surface display format
  • Perform recombinant DNA cloning and microbial transformation and handling (bacteria, yeast) 

Required Education and Experience:

  • Candidates must have a major in molecular biology, biochemistry, bioengineering or related disciplines
  • Candidates must have strong hands-on experience in molecular biology and recombinant DNA techniques
  • Candidates must be available to work full-time for up to (12) weeks beginning in May or June of 2020 

Preferred Experience and Skills: 

  • Candidates should have experience in antibody discovery using yeast or phage display techniques
  • Candidates should have familiarity with key bioinformatics and sequence analysis software
  • Candidates should have experience in flow cytometry (highly desired)
  • Candidates should have experience working in a highly collaborative, multifunctional team environment
