ASSIGNMENT DURATION: Summer 2018
SCHEDULED WORK WEEK HOURS: 40 Hours/Week
EDUCATION DESIRED: Undergraduate or Graduate level student in Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, Physics or related discipline.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Perform creative R&D under the supervision of staff scientists for next generation aerospace, automotive and defense products. Develop, implement, and evaluate novel physics based models and signal processing algorithms. Additional job functions include assisting in solving customer problems, writing invention disclosures, and publishing papers.
EXPERIENCE DESIRED: Research experience in the design, development, and implementation of signal processing and machine learning algorithms is desired. Experience with RF- and/or acoustic signal processing is a plus. Programming proficiency in MATLAB, Labview, Python, and/or C/C++ is required. Any experience with computing using embedded CPUs, GPUs, or FPGAs is a plus. A strong mathematical background is preferred.
KNOWLEDGE DESIRED: Knowledge of signal processing and optimization is required. Knowledge of RF/acoustic modeling and machine learning is desired. A strong mathematical/analytical background is preferred.
ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to work safely in antenna and RF/microwave testing laboratories. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and organization skills are required. Must be proficient in use of computers, engineering work stations, and complex electronic equipment.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: U.S. citizenship or permanent resident status required.
