Description

This Test Mechanical Research and Development Engineering Intern position entails working on projects to research, develop, and test solutions used for semiconductor test equipment.

A successful candidate must be able to work in a technically diverse environment, ability to adapt to changing requirements, and have verbal and written communication skills. 

Typical activities include:

  • Designing and developing mechanical tooling solutions which meets product and package requirements.
  • Creating design specifications, reviewing designs, designing and executing experiments, and performing inspections.
  • Working with design teams to complete design, manufacturing and validation activities of mechanical solutions.
  • Creating and executing validation and characterization plans to demonstrate the capability of the mechanical solution to meet the specifications, both in a lab/bench test setting.
  • Completing the mechanical analysis of the validation/characterization activities and summarizing the results.
  • Reviewing and communicating the data/results/risks/recommendations in technical peer reviews and in management reviews.

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position.

Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

Experience listed below would be obtained through a combination of your school work/classes/research and/or relevant previous job and/or internship experiences. 

Minimum

  • Be pursuing a Master's degree program in Mechanical Engineering 

Preferred

  • CAD design (for example, SolidWorks)
  • Design of Experiment (DOEs)
  • Project management skills
