SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES

The Aerospace Corporation is seeking a Microelectronics Graduate Intern Researcher for an internship opportunity. This position will be located in El Segundo, CA. 

The qualified candidate will become part of the Microelectronics Technology Department in the Electronics and Photonics Laboratory in the Physical Sciences Laboratory. 

KEY FUNCTIONS

  • Characterize devices and measure electronic and mechanical responses and/or fabricate nano- and micro-electromechanical devices
  • Develop tools and techniques for optimizing device sensitivity and performance
  • Participate with an interdisciplinary team in ongoing research or technical programs with academic collaboration partners.
  • Apply standard techniques and procedures to carry out a series of scientific and/or measurement tasks
  • Training and mentorship will be provided.

 REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree completed and currently enrolled at an accredited college/university degree program pursuing a Masters or PhD in physics, electrical engineering, materials science or related program.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint and Excel)
  • Minimum GPA 3.0
  • Must be able to obtain a security clearance
  • US Citizenship required 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • GPA 3.5 or higher
  • Active security clearance
  • Experience programming in C, C++, JAVA, or scientific programming languages
  • Experience in developing and delivering presentations
  • Experience in working in an autonomous work environment on complex projects
  • Experience in working in a cleanroom laboratory environment or with wet chemistry background
  • Experience in working with measurement equipment such as spectrum analyzer, network analyzer, and lock-in amplifiers
