This position is focused on enhancing our state of the art manufacturing capabilities using software and systems technologies. Duties include improving our shop floor systems by adding new features and extending capabilities to IoT usage across the factory floor, providing data to the enterprise to drive quality, productivity, and profitability improvements.

IoT technologies will be used to interface equipment and quality systems for the collection of real-time shop floor data to improve manufacturing processes that support plant management with production facilities and equipment issues by performing the following duties.

This role is a mix of Mfg Engineering and Systems Engineering.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • This position will plan, configure and implement our Manufacturing Execution System (MES) for the factory. This role will serve as a "super user" of the system, capable of training and supporting the manufacturing user base.
  • Must be able to analyze requirements and design new, or enhancements, to existing systems that fulfill the requirements.
  • Will perform system/process testing and debugging.
  • Prepares user and internal design documentation as needed.
  • Provides support for the management team by providing manufacturing engineering technical expertise and working collaboratively on manufacturing processes. Participates in continuous improvement/cost down events as a team member or team leader.
  • Will need to do some travel to other local factories to assist in project implementations and support.

Computer Skills:

Required: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have strong computer skills, including MS Office, database software tools such as SQL, internet/web applications.

Desired: Web-based programming tools such as Python, Django. Oracle PL/SQL. Oracle EBS application experience. Knowledge of PLCs will be needed to support equipment data collection processes. RFID system experience.
