What's the role?

We’re looking for a results-driven Accounting Process Specialist to join our high-performing Shared Service Centre team in Manchester. As the Accounting Process Specialist you’ll be part of our Regional Finance team in Manchester. You’ll be able to collaborate with and influence team members across the Regional Hub, other Market Organisations and within HQ to ensure that projects are completed successfully

What does the role involve?

Day to day, you will act as a business partner with the finance teams. You will lead finance accounting projects and prepare a handover to business as ususal for the process lead. Example projects include the rollout of tools and implementation of accounting standards. You'll be responsible for introducing and implementing best practice into the Shared Service operation, acting as a link between global and local operations, ensuring adherence to global standards whilst keeping local requirements in mind. You will exchange with the Hilti accounting community. You will support the resolution of IT service requests and support the Shared Service Centre with executing reviews of system access and managing and performing the testing in SAP. The role will be required to drive continuous improvement in all finance processes to offer added value to the department, therefore you will be required to train and support SSC employees, accounting employees and finance leaders to drive operational excellence and compliance.

What you need is:

  • Bachelor or Masters degree in business, Finance, IT or similar or equivalent finance qualification
  • Previous experience in a project management / operational excellence role within in a multinational Shared Service Centre / organization
  • Proven project experience within a finance environment
  • Experienced user of SAP and Microsoft Office (particularly Excel)
  • Ability to collaborate with team members to achieve the right result
  • Passion to learn and drive to succeed
  • A proactive approach and self-reliant personality
  • Experience in transformation projects/continuous improvement would also be ideal
