Our ideal new team member will have the mathematical and statistical expertise you'd expect from a passionate Data Scientist. Couple that with a naturally curious and creative mind, that's no so easy to find. Hidden opportunities need to be uncovered but we want someone who is excited by a new challenge. We want you to ask the questions, build the rapport and understanding and connecting all the dots which will help you to ultimately reach the goals set out to maximise the potential of the data!

 In this role, you'll be expected to: 

  • Collaborate with product design and engineering to develop an understanding of needs
  • Research and devise innovative statistical models for data analysis
  • Communicate findings to all stakeholders
  • Enable smarter business processes - and implement analytics for meaningful insights
  • Keep up with current technical and industry developments
  • Work as the data science strategist, identifying and integrating new datasets that can be leveraged through our product capabilities
  • Work closely with the engineering team to strategise and execute the development of data products 
  • Select features, building and optimise classifiers using machine learning techniques
  • Execute analytical experiments methodically to help solve various problems and make a true impact across various domains and industries
  • Extend data with third party sources of information when needed
  • Do ad-hoc analysis and present results in a clear manner
  •  Identify relevant data sources and sets to mine for client business needs and collect large, structured and unstructured datasets and variables
  • Devise and utilise algorithms and models to mine big data stores, perform data and error analysis to improve models and clean and validate data for uniformity and accuracy
  • Analyse data for trends and patterns and interpret data with a clear and objective mind
  • Implement analytical models into production by collaborating with software developers and machine learning engineers
  • Communicate analytic solutions to stakeholders and implement improvements as need to operational systems 
  • Slice and dice the data using your own methods, creating new visions for the future with ANS at this exciting time.  

Are you the person we're looking for? 

  • You'll need proficiency with data mining, maths and statistical analysis
  • You will need experience in advanced pattern recognition and predictive modelling
  • Experience with Excel, Powerpoint, Tableau, SQL and programming languages such as Python, R, SAS, C and C++ is essential
  • You need to be comfortable working a dynamic, research orientated group with several ongoing concurrent projects
  • The ideal candidate will have a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in statistics, applied maths, computer science or a related discipline (Master's qualification preferable)
  • Project management experience would be beneficial
