Description

Cardno is seeking a college intern in our Austin, TX office. 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 

  • Manage multi-disciplinary project tasks
  • complete biological field studies, data analysis, environmental permitting and report preparation
  • Provide technical support to various projects

Basic Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's degree or major in botany, plant ecology, wetlands ecology, riparian ecology, conservation biology, wildlife biology, or related science
  • 0-3 years of relevant experience in environmental consulting, impacts analyses, wetland delineation, environmental documentation and permitting, habitat restoration and/or applied science
  • MUST have wetland delineation and T&E habitat assessment skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong problem-solution orientation, detail oriented and resourceful
  • Ability to work without direct supervision
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Word & Excel
  • Ability to travel to field sites and other Cardno office locations (overnight travel)
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship 

Desired Qualifications:

  • 3 or more years experience preferred
  • Strong ecology/biology background, advanced degree a plus
  • Positive, flexible, team-oriented approach, with the willingness and desire to work as a part of a multi-disciplinary team
  • wetland assessment experience; Section 404 permitting
  • Effective time management and follow-through, with the ability to simultaneously work on and lead multiple tasks/projects and meet project deadlines
  • Ability to work well independently and with a diverse, multi-disciplinary team in a fast-paced, team oriented work environment
  • Positive and energetic attitude; Self-motivated with strong initiative
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Positive working relationships with state, federal, and local regulatory agencies
  • Willing to travel; up to 50% of the time
