Furniture Village is dependent upon the efficient and effective operation of technology systems to operate all areas of the business.  This is an excellent opportunity for a budding IT enthusiast to join an internal support team providing various levels of support via telephone, remote and onsite IT support across the UK.

The ideal candidate will have some previous experience of providing IT hardware support or software support, bespoke application support, be a recent university IT graduate, or someone who has recently completed their IT Apprenticeship. Retail experience is beneficial but not required.

Required skills/experience:

  • At least 1 years’ experience working in a 1st/2nd Line support role
  • Experience troubleshooting desktops, laptops, hardware & software
  • An understanding and working knowledge of troubleshooting Windows 7 & 10
  • An understanding of administration tasks in Office365
  • An understanding of networking (LAN, WAN)
  • An understanding and working knowledge of Windows Servers.

Key tasks and responsibilities:

  • Troubleshooting desktops, laptops, hardware, and software
  • Office 365 admin
  • Writing / updating user and system documentation
  • Maintaining records (e.g. asset database)
  • Network and some server administration
  • Working on SLA based technical support calls
  • Proactive and Reactive support,
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • OOH on call support duties
  • Travel from head office will be required
  • Some project work may be required.
