Harrison Wing, Guy’s Hospital: Contract = 12 months fixed term (funding)
The Department of GUM/HIV workload is one of the largest in London, with more than 50,000 patient attendances each year across sites at Guy’s and St Thomas’ hospitals and approximately 2,900 people with HIV/AIDS seen on a regular outpatient basis. Opportunity exists for a dynamic and enthusiastic nurse to join our team working on projects and clinical trials primarily in the Harrison Wing, researching treatment experiences and interventions used within HIV medicine. The post holder will be based at Guy's Hospital but may also be required to work across GSTT.
We are looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic Clinical Research Support Assistant to join our team working on projects and clinical trials researching treatment experiences and interventions used within Sexual Health and HIV/AIDS care. The post holder will be working as part of a team of research nurses and doctors motivated to carry out high quality research. The post holder will be involved in ensuring that any research undertaken within the department safeguards the well being of the patients and is conducted according to Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and the Medicines for Human Use (Clinical Trial) Regulations 2004, Research Governance Framework and Amended Regulations 2006. This is an excellent opportunity to enable the individual to gain a wide range of skills and experience within the clinical research environment. You will be employed by Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust, working closely with our academic partners at King’s College London.
This is an excellent opportunity for those who wish to work within a clinical research environment and gain experience of working in clinical trials.
Previous experience in research, and phase 1 clinical trials, is advantageous, but excellent communication skills, good clinical experience and attention to detail are essential. Experience within this clinical area would also be advantageous.
