The UNICEF Internship Programme offers qualified and eligible students at both Headquarters (HQ) and Country Offices (CO) the unique opportunity to acquire direct practical experience in UNICEF's work and the United Nations system under the direct supervision of experienced UNICEF staff.
To be considered for an internship with UNICEF, applicants must meet the following requirements:
Job organizational context
UNICEF’s Information and Communication Technology (ICT) function is in a state of transformation, in line with the recognition of the changing tide of the ICT world and the business environment in which it serves. The ICT function is focused on continued improvement of services for the realization of UNICEF’s mandate. It incorporates the implementation of improvements on how to better leverage technology for competitive advantage and business value optimization.
One such improvement is the strengthening of a Business Relation Management (BRM) function. The Business Relationship Managers recognize the need to strengthen and standardize certain ICT business processes. Accordingly, the Senior ICT BRM is seeking a Research and Analysis Intern to provide support with strengthening of the related ICT business processes.
Purpose of the internship
The Research and Analysis Intern is responsible for supporting the BRMs in researching and analyzing two broad topics: business requirements gathering and benefits realization. While there are a variety of ways to perform these two functions, there is a need to collate the best practice and create a convincing guideline tailored to the appropriate audiences.
The Research and Analysis Intern will also support the BRMs engagement with the respective Divisions in the cluster. Under the guidance of the BRM, the Intern identifies business partner needs and develops related documentation on their strategic investments related to ICT projects, ensuring they align with technology that provides maximum efficiency and effectiveness.
Key Duties and Tasks
This internship will be for a period of four to six months.
Qualifications and Competencies
A monthly stipend as contribution towards living and transportation expenses will be provided up to $1,500.00 for the selected candidate.
Due to the volume of applications received, only shortlisted candidates will be notified.
UNICEF has a zero-tolerance policy on sexual exploitation and abuse, and on any kind of harassment, including sexual harassment, and discrimination. All selected candidates will, therefore, undergo rigorous reference and background checks.
UNICEF is committed to diversity and inclusion within its workforce, and encourages qualified candidates from all national, religious and ethnic backgrounds, including persons living with disabilities, to apply to become a part of our organization.
