Responsible for the updating of packaging databases for specifications and all packaging data. Ensure that system is working and that any data anomalies with other systems across the business are resolved. Inclusive of aligning with business to work on new business systems to enable simplification

Supports the project team during the product/packaging development and implementation phases of Innovation projects to ensure new packaging complies with local food safety regulations, quality standards, shelf life requirements, consumer needs, and sustainability metrics.

Helps evaluation and application of innovative solutions or new technologies and materials in the design of packaging to deliver a consumer benefit in terms of product use, to enhance profit margin through material savings, or to reduce the environmental impact of our packaging.

Develops and Implements controlled documents, SOP’s and correct tools for enabling efficient and effective delivery of Packaging

Implements cost savings initiatives to deliver against the annual cost savings target.

Takes an active role in the problem solving, planning and implementation of Lean activities within the immediate function, department and business.

Ensure that the defined testing & approval procedures are followed, and that any deviations are agreed with Senior Manager


  • Basic understanding of packaging operations. ·
  • Basic understanding of most existing packaging materials, equipment, and processes
  • Able to assess relative risks in and across projects
  • Able to manage multiple projects for and deliver OTIF
  • Able to streamline and simplify processes to eliminate activities that do not add value.
  • Knowledge of the factors that support the wider business goals
  • Excellent time and project management skills.
  • A clear & concise communicator, ability to communicate effectively across a cross-section of disciplines and staff level internally and externally
  • Able to negotiate and influence others.
  • Is logical, pragmatic & process driven.
  • Able to demonstrate a clear analytical approach to problem solving.
  • Have experience in or have knowledge of machinery used in the filling of components
  • A good understanding of technical drawing’s
  • An awareness of relevant packaging legislation


  • Hold a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Packaging or related technical field
  • Sound theoretical technical knowledge of packaging development & NPD
  • Passion for creative product development and have hands-on process experience
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work well in a team well as independently
  • Show high levels of pro-activity and excellent achievement drive
