Description

We are looking to expand our Finance Team by recruiting a Graduate Trainee. This is a fantastic opportunity to begin your career in a fast-moving, private equity backed business with turnover of £50m. What’s more, we will support your journey to becoming a Management Accountant by fully funding your CIMA qualification.

What will you be doing?

This is a wide-ranging role where you will learn all about financial systems and processes. We expect that within three years you will be a fully qualified Management Accountant (dependent upon successful completion of CIMA exams).

You will initially work with the Accounts Payable and Treasury teams to help you gain an understanding of our systems, processes and people; you will then assist with management accounts, budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis. The scope of this role will grow over time as you develop your skills and experience but some of your key responsibilities include:

  • Assist the Treasury team with cash postings, bank reconciliations and cashflow reporting;
  • Helping with budgeting, forecasting and reporting for internal and external stakeholders; and
  • Assisting the Financial Controller with the preparation of management and statutory accounts (P&L, balance sheet and cashflow statements).

Full details are provided in the attached role profile. You will also be studying for the CIMA Professional Qualification.

What are we looking for?

We are looking for candidates to demonstrate:

  • A drive and desire to work in finance e.g. though previous work experience or an internship in a finance department;
  • Strong numeracy and analytical skills;
  • Excellent attention to detail; and
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to work to tight deadlines and to prioritise workloads.

You will be studying a post-graduate level qualification therefore it is important that you have an undergraduate degree at 2:2 (or equivalent) or substantial relevant experience.

What do we offer you?

You will study for the CIMA Professional Qualification which, when combined with the practical work experience you’ll gain, will provide you with the skills, knowledge and behaviours required for a successful career in Finance, or in the wider business.

We also offer you:

  • An excellent starting salary, with an annual salary review;
  • Discretionary company bonus scheme;
  • 25 days holiday per year, plus bank holidays;
  • Season ticket loan;
  • An excellent working environment from our lovely Head Office in the heart of Manchester City Centre (and yes, we have discounts at local bars, restaurants, gyms etc.);
  • The chance to get involved with the company sports teams (football, netball) and wider social events.

Finally, you have the chance to kick-start your career in a successful and growing business.
