"Geeky Girl Reality" began as a longitudinal survey study to explore young women’s experiences in relation to STEM and preparing for STEM careers.
The goal was simple: we wanted to understand what young women currently studying STEM at university were thinking about their future and STEM careers.
Findings from our research helped us to understand that we needed to kickstart careers for young women in STEM.
In 2018, the Geeky Reality Foundation was founded and formalised as a Benefit Corporation in Delaware, USA. We have a social mission to extend the work of the Geeky Girl Reality project.
The Geeky Girl Reality brand has now developed into a resource hub for networking, gigs and opportunities, connecting with role models and sharing experiences. We currently focus on helping young women to find short-term gigs and opportunities in STEM.
Geeky Reality Foundation manages the advertising and revenue that supports the Geeky Girl Reality project.
The research is sponsored by Ad Hod Global user research consultancy firm and conducted by our team of user researchers who have specialist backgrounds in social science and human factors research
The Geeky Girl Reality is handled as an independent research project.
