Nominations for the Women in IT Awards Ireland on 21st November 2018 are now OPEN! Technology, one of the world’s most vibrant and exciting industries, continues to be blighted by one disheartening issue: where are all the women? With just under 19% of Ireland’s tech sector being female, the Women in IT Awards programme has come to the region for the first time to highlight the women in technology paving the way. Encouragingly Irish women in Tech are the second-best paid in the world, however they still lag massively behind their male counterparts by almost a fifth when it comes to pay. Since its launch in 2015 the Women in IT Awards have showcased women in technology in London and New York, with new launches in Asia, Ireland and San Francisco planned. Organised by business-technology site Information Age, the Women in IT Awards Ireland acts as a flagship and high-profile platform to support the industry in its mission to move the dial on gender. Offering a series of awards, ranging from CIO of the year through to Rising Star, the programme provides a platform to identify females at all levels achieving great things in Ireland. Already recognised as a leading the way in achieving diversity in the tech sector, the Women in IT programme’s expansion is set to continue as it continues with its mission to achieve gender parity in the technology sector. The judges convene two weeks before the awards ceremony to review all of the finalists’ nominations. They will decide the winners based on the written submissions, so try to include as much information as possible. Please use the criteria (listed below) of the category you wish to enter to shape your written submission, as the judges will refer to each criteria to guide their decisions. Each written submission should be at least 400 words and a maximum of 600 words. There is no cost to nominate and you can enter as many categories as you wish. A member of the Women in IT Awards team will reach out to everyone who nominated around four months before the awards ceremony to tell them whether they have been shortlisted as a finalist. Good luck! If you have any queries relating to the nomination process, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
