Actively involved in next generation tunable laser product prototyping and testing; SOA integration with 64 GBaud Coherent Optical Sub-Assembly (COSA). This requires the development of creative device assembly and testing strategy, solving technical problems, collecting scientific data and presenting results to multi-function teams. Strong emphasis on collaborations with chip designers, optical, mechanical, RF engineers, and manufacturing team to move advanced product development programs forward. Responsibilities and Authority: Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Develop large scale manufacturable tunable laser prototyping assembly procedures and device testing methodologies to validate initial product design targets. Actively involved in solving tunable laser technical issues, such as fiber pigtail soldering, low stress lid seal etc. Exploring active device design, integration and testing technologies based on existing literature survey and propose innovative solutions for current technical challenges. Develop creative methodology to integrate SOA to our 64GBaud COSA. Demonstrate COSA performance improvement through transmitter output power and receiver sensitivity studies. Education and/or Experience: Graduate degree in EE or Physics from an accredited university in engineering or physics. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered. Particular importance is placed on previous experience with tunable laser, SOA integration, optical component and system-level design, prototype and testing for telecommunications products.
