ASSIGNMENT DURATION: 2-4 Months  LABOR CHARGE: DIRECT  SCHEDULED WORK WEEK HOURS: 20-40 hours/week  EDUCATION DESIRED: MS, Ph.D. or pursuing a graduate degree in Computer Science, Network Science or Applied Math.  ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Assist technical staff in the design, implementation and performance evaluation of game theory-based or combinatorial optimization algorithms applied to problems in network science and data analytics.  EXPERIENCE DESIRED: Class projects or work/internship experience in algorithm design & analysis, algorithmic game theory, algorithmic mechanism design or combinatorial optimization. Programming experience with C/Java, Lisp/Clojure, Python, or related languages.  KNOWLEDGE DESIRED: Algorithm design & analysis, algorithmic game theory, algorithmic mechanism design, combinatorial optimization, strong programming skills, particularly proficient with C/Java, Lisp/Clojure, Python, or related languages.  ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS: Good communication, presentation and writing skills.  SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (e.g. driver’s license special tools or restrictions): U.S. citizenship or permanent resident status required. ASSIGNMENT DURATION: Summer 2018  SCHEDULED WORK WEEK HOURS: 40 Hours/Week  EDUCATION DESIRED: Undergraduate or Graduate level student in Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, Physics or related discipline.  ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Perform creative R&D under the supervision of staff scientists for next generation aerospace, automotive and defense products. Develop, implement, and evaluate novel physics based models and signal processing algorithms. Additional job functions include assisting in solving customer problems, writing invention disclosures, and publishing papers.  EXPERIENCE DESIRED: Research experience in the design, development, and implementation of signal processing and machine learning algorithms is desired. Experience with RF- and/or acoustic signal processing is a plus. Programming proficiency in MATLAB, Labview, Python, and/or C/C++ is required. Any experience with computing using embedded CPUs, GPUs, or FPGAs is a plus. A strong mathematical background is preferred.  KNOWLEDGE DESIRED: Knowledge of signal processing and optimization is required. Knowledge of RF/acoustic modeling and machine learning is desired. A strong mathematical/analytical background is preferred.  ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to work safely in antenna and RF/microwave testing laboratories. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and organization skills are required.
