Responsibilities SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES The Aerospace Corporation is seeking a graduate engineering, math, or computer science major for an internship opportunity. This position will be located in El Segundo, CA . The qualified candidate will become part of the Navigation and Geopositioning Systems Department (NGSD) and perform mission design, system analysis, and tool development. NGSD serves as a center of excellence in the development and advancement of position, navigation, and timing technologies for the National Security Space and civil/commercial space communities. The Navigation Graduate Intern will perform the following duties:  KEY FUNCTIONS Mathematical and engineering analyses, algorithm and software development related to orbital mechanics and trajectory estimation Provide technical support to the development and advancement of position, navigation, and timing technologies (e.g., GPS and Global Navigation Satellite Systems) Develop, apply, and deliver high-fidelity modeling and simulation capabilities across the enterprise of launch, space, ground, and user systems Conduct mission performance, optimization, and trade studies Participates with an interdisciplinary team in ongoing research or technical programs with academic collaboration partners. Applies standard techniques and procedures to carry out a series of prescribed scientific and/or engineering tasks.
