Purpose of Role An exciting and challenging role working in the team involved in the development of the framework used to run 2G, 3G, LTE and 5G signalling test cases for the Keysight Protocol Conformance Test systems. We are seeking an individual who is willing to undertake some of the dynamic challenges provided within the team. The role will provide the opportunity to: Gain practical software development experience, putting theory into practice across the full software development lifecycle: Designing new features. Programming in Java, JavaScript, C#, C++ and/or SQL. Debugging issues reported by customers. Developing automated tests to ensure the correctness of the features/bug fixes. Developing/extending the automated build/test environments. Become familiar with the Keysight Protocol Conformance Test systems. Job Qualifications Duties & Responsibilities Work will be varied between project work and day to day activities. These will include: Bug fixes and development of new features. Development of automation solutions to enable seamless execution of test cases. Manual execution of conformance test cases where necessary. Creation and reporting of test results. Essential Skills Currently undertaking one of the following courses; Mathematics, Electronic Engineering or Computer Science oriented Degree (or equivalent). Some software development experience e.g. C, C++, C# or Java. Pro-active team member / problem solver and ability to communicate effectively. Willing to learn a variety of programming disciplines. Desirables Experience working on software/hardware outside the academic environment. Familiarity with communication protocols (particularly mobile telecommunications). Rapid changes in our customers' technology mean that we are always creating new and innovative solutions to their problems, striving always to be a market and technology leader and a best in class supplier. Join the team that's taking world-leading Keysight products from design to production. Telecom communication service providers are currently undergoing major changes in their network infrastructure in order to exploit flexibility and cost savings from Software Defined Networking (SDN) and Network Function Virtualisation (NFV). While these technologies have advantages, they also introduce complexity in the form of configuration and orchestration. The purpose of this project is to investigate technologies that will enable automatic discovery and provisioning of Keysight's probe monitoring solutions in the virtualised environment. The project will involve technologies including Keysight's existing LTE probe system, KVM, OpenFlow and Open vSwitch and P4. Our software development environment includes C++, Perl and Python. The successful candidate: Shall work with the system architects and perform prototyping and development work as necessary. Shall be part of the R&D team and expected to collaborate and communicate effectively with the team both verbally and in writing. Will gain and apply knowledge about Keysight's industry, infrastructure and products in their assignment. This is an opportunity to acquire real world experience in a company that is a leader in the markets it serves.
