Under the guidance of experienced engineers the successful candidate will work to characterize new generation of commercial lasers. Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to: Wafer deformation and stress analysis for verity of substrates/wafer size/surface layers and structures. To Discover and correlate the deformation and stress characterization methods (including FLX system, XRD, profilometer). Model building and simulation using advance software (ex. Matlab). Study the influence of wafer deformation in wafer handling, post processing; provide and test improvement solution. Design of experiment (DOE) and generate technical report with conclusion and development plan. Other manageable tasks as assigned Requirements A minimum of Senior standing towards a bachelor's degree in material science, electrical engineering, optics, solid-state physics or related field MS or PhD program level strongly preferred Some university lab experience with graduate school projects. Proficient in office, and knowledge of industrial simulation programing software packages such as Matlab,Labview, Visual Basic. Experience in MOCVD / MBE thin film deposition is a plus Willingness to work supporting of 24x7 fab manufacturing that additional off-hours on-call support may be required. Excellent communication skills; verbal, written and presentation Experience in optical thin film, optical characterization and control automation programming is a plus
