Apple's Strategic Data Solutions Analytic Insight team is seeking a Data Scientist Intern for a role this summer at our Austin, Texas location. Key Qualifications Strong, demonstrated interest in data science Ability to program in Python, Java, C++, or similar language Solid, proven grasp of data analysis Working knowledge of relational databases and SQL is a plus Description   The Analytic Insight (AI) team provides analytic support across Apple's lines of business, applying data science and machine learning to mitigate fraud, waste, and abuse while optimizing and empowering our customers and internal partners. The team of data scientists researches, develops, and operationally supports analytical models that take real-time and forensic action against a variety of threats.   As an intern on the AI team, you will work with your mentor to develop an innovative research project and present the results to senior leadership at the end of the summer. You will get to play in Apple's enormous data infrastructure, evaluating your new tools and techniques on a giant scale.   Education & Experience   Currently enrolled in a degree-granting program pursuing an M.S. or Ph.D. in machine learning, statistics, operations research, or closely related fields with equivalent experience. Must be returning to school after internship.   Additional Requirements Past internship projects include: LSTMs, natural language processing, and data visualization.
