Global Innovation Internship Location: Weybridge, Surrey KT15 2HJ Duration: Full-time over summer then flexible part-time hours (10 - 15hrs per week) for the remainder of the year. Degree Field of study: Ideally one of the following - Business Management, Engineering, MArketing, Innovation related or Product/Industrial Design. Reporting to: Director Open Innovation Mentor: Senior Manager - Innovation Process and Portfolio Management, Operations. Fantastic internship opportunity for somebody to join our Global Innovation Team on a full-time basis over the summer months then part-time thereafter for 10 -15 hours per week flexibly to work around study/other commitments. We are looking for a technically minded, confident individual with a keen interest in Innovation who would be comfortable working proactively on research projects presented by the Global Innovation Team, working on own initiative going away to perform research and documenting evidential findings to present to the wider Global Innovation Team and also the bord level stakeholders. Skills / prior experience required: Creative problem solver with high degree of service orientation Emerging technologies, materials and future retailer technology trends passion Technical knowledge of Innovation tools, and related processes Technical knowledge of advanced search engine tools (patent searching experience would be advantageous) Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong analytical skills Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills Ability to learn and understand technology and/or industry terminology Microsoft Office products knowledge particularly Excel, PowerPoint, Word Project Objective / Business Justification: This Internship role will be focused on the development and execution of a horizon scanning process to identify key technology enablers, startups, adjacent industries in our key targeted innovation areas for our business globally. Supports the launch and execution of our Open Innovation program, amongst other ad hoc projects. Receive company project briefs, analyse requirements (with support of the Director of O-I) and focus external search to answer brief. Support Global Innovation team in obtaining & preparing content to share via the internal Yammer – a total Brambles communication platform. What will student learn from this experience? The intern will be treated as a professional hire and will gain experience at Global Board level in a robust, global business environment. Time will be allocated to coaching & mentoring, answering questions, listening, and relationship building. They will be given the opportunity to demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively and professionally.
