Lenovo’s Data Center Group (DCG) is seeking a qualified Co-op to join the Software Security Review Board (SSRB) team as a Junior Product Security Test Engineer (Ethnical Hacker). The SSRB is dedicated to enhancing the security of Lenovo DCG products for our customers. Projects will include configuring security test targets such as servers, storage, and networking environments; performing product security assessments; creating assessment reports; and working with global product teams to review assessment results. The successful candidate will be prepared to work in a fast-paced team environment, have a healthy curiosity, and a passion for learning about security and data center technology. The candidate will finish the program having gained valuable product security assessment and security consulting experience. Key Responsibilities Setup, configure, and use security tools such as AppAudit, Arachni, Burp Suite Pro, CHIPSEC, nmap, Nessus, Protecode SC, and Metasploit to perform SSRB security assessments Prepare security assessment reports Work with global product teams to review security assessment reports Develop Nessus and other test tool assessment profiles Research/develop standards on assigned security topics Perform reverse engineering on select binaries Develop documentation and training materials Position Requirements: Required: Actively pursuing a degree in Computer Science or other related field at Wake Tech Community College Eligible for Wake Tech Community College Work Based Learning Willingness to own projects all the way through to completion Detail-oriented and ability to come up to speed quickly in a fast-paced environment Preferred: Previous experience working within a datacenter preferred Familiar with Server O/S and networking protocols We are an Equal Opportunity Employer and do not discriminate against any employee or applicant for employment because of race, color, sex, age, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, status as a veteran, and basis of disability or any federal, state, or local protected class.
