Our compensated Summer Internship Program is designed to give rising junior and senior undergraduate students a challenging, hands-on experience in the technology industry. Interns will join our collaborative, friendly work environment to participate on meaningful projects to support our business. Our goal is to foster the growth of highly motivated, talented individuals that would like to join us as repeat interns and/or ultimately regular full-time employees. 2020 Program Dates: June 1, 2020 - August 7, 2020 The Market Research Intern provides support to the Marketing Research department in the creation of product marketing plans to include customer analysis, market, economic, competitive, legislative, technology and partner trends. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 1.Gather and maintain information in the following areas of focus: Direct competitors Market and industry trends Political/regulatory, economic, social, technological Internal skills and resources Customer and partner value perceptions Product life cycle Financial performance 2. Become familiar with secondary research or intelligence service providers. 3. Assist in the updating of a central repository of data, information and market intelligence. 4. Assist in the updating of a central repository of data, information and market intelligence. 5. Assist in market research activities, ranging from opportunity assessments, competitive analysis, brand tracking studies to ad hoc market assessments for established and new product and service lines. 6. Assist in budgeting required for information gathering (syndicated research firm, 3rd party research/intelligence firm, etc.). 7. Become familiar with the latest intelligence analytical tools and techniques and share with or educate the organization with the knowledge as needed. 8. Support a dynamic team environment at Vertex by collaborating with other employees, entities and teams contributing time, effort, enthusiasm and ideas. Education and Training: Junior/Senior in Business with a concentration in Data Science, Mathematics or Computer Science. Marketing Research or Statistics/Data Analytics with experience in Excel, Qualtrics or SPSS desired. Experience: Demonstrable classroom performance. G.P.A. of 3.0 or greater.
