We are currently seeking a methodical and organised individual to join the Recruitment and Admissions team at Enrolment Management Services, on a full-time and fixed term basis (until 12 July 2020). If you have experience of working in both a customer service and a confidential, office environment, we would like to hear from you. As an Information and Admissions Assistant, you will undertake all aspects of the administration of student enquiries and admissions, from the point of first enquiry through to the point of registration at the University. You will ensure that applicants have a fair, positive and satisfying experience, and that the University has vetted applicants thoroughly to ensure compliance with visa regulations, qualifications and fee requirements. You will be working in a high volume, high paced working environment, which can be challenging, particularly around admissions deadlines. We are, therefore, looking for someone who is able to multi-task and use their initiative. As Information and Admissions Assistant you will: Provide advice and guidance internally and to candidates, related to academic admissions Write correspondence using standard formats, in response to a wide range of applicant and prospective student enquiries Provide data reports for management information purposes from the student record system and relevant databases Undertake a range of seasonal duties to ensure the success of the department and to facilitate its work at times of exceptional demand To be successful in this role you will have: GCSE English and Maths grade C or above, or equivalent Ability to write clearly with a high level of accuracy Previous clerical/administration experience gained in a team-orientated, results focussed, process driven, high turnover office environment This role will involve attending Confirmation and Clearing events during August and arrivals weekend in September. You will also attend and assist with registration and admissions queries on applicant days and University Open days. This will involve working a number of Saturday events. Enrolment Management Services (EMS) comprises the Recruitment and Admissions Office, the Partnership Development Office, the Publishing Office and the Scholarships and Foreign Loans Office, and has within its purview all UK and EU recruitment and all University recruitment, promotional and applicant communications, outreach and regional partnership development, scholarship and student financial support schemes and admissions activities.
