Corvid Technologies LLC
Mechanical Engineering Intern
Corvid Technologies LLC Alexandria, VA, USA
Corvid Technologies is seeking qualified candidates for an internship working with our Structural Mechanics Applications Group. The Structural Mechanics Applications Group supports a variety of government programs investigating dynamic phenomena including hypervelocity penetration, reactive material physics, material characterization, and weapon system evaluation. The group leverages its proprietary solver, Velodyne, which is a predictive multi-physics hydro-structural solver involving shock physics to understand and predict what happens to matter (gas, liquid, or solid) under extreme loading conditions, and involves structural mechanics to analyze the behavior of solid structures when exposed to applied mechanical loads. Examples of desired backgrounds:  Knowledge of structural dynamics and mechanics, numerical methods, and finite element analysis; working knowledge of CAD and numerical grid generation techniques and applications; physics, mechanical engineering, or...
